Villalobos Brothers will perform in Northeast India
Alcheringa, popularly known as Alcher, is the largest cultural festival in Northeast India, organized by the Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati. Now in its 18th incarnation, the festival has a footfall of more than 50,000 and a participation from 350 colleges from across the country.
Alcheringa derived from an Australian slang meaning “Eternal Dream Time” and was established with the underlying idea of creating an ethereal state for its patrons.
This year, the cultural extravaganza’s theme will be ‘Alcheringa Atlantis: The Depths of Imagination’. The island of Atlantis was the domain of Poseidon, God of the Sea, and a center for trade and commerce. 2014 will unravel the mysteries of a highly technologically advanced Island that existed more than 11,000 years ago.
The magic will be recreated, the imagination will touch new boundaries and the world of the arts will flourish again when Atlantis meets Alcheringa this Spring at IIT Guwahati.
